Picking Up Trash While Hiking in Kritipur,Kathmandu: Our Experience on Champadevi Temple Trail

Last Thursday, February 16th, my five friends and I decided to go for a hike to champadevi temple located in kritipur, ktm.The temple is located at an altitude of 2278m and is known for its beautiful views and spiritual significance. As we started our hike we were amazed by the breathtaking views of the Himalayas, lush forest, and city below. However, our joy was short-lived as we noticed that there was litter scattered everywhere on the trail. Empty wrappers, plastic, bottles, and even food have littered the path, taking away from the beauty of the natural surroundings.

It was disheartening to see how people carelessly discard their trash on the trail not realizing the harm it causes to the environment. As nature lovers and responsible citizens/hikers, we could not sit back and watch the situation worsen. So we decided to do our bit and started picking up the trash we saw along the way.

We took the trash bag with us and as we walked along the trail, we filled it up with the litter we found. We picked up empty water bottles, snack wrappers, and even leftover food scraps. It was small but impactful action that we could take to help to preserve the natural beauty of the trail.

Picking up trash while hiking is not about keeping the environment clean, it also helps to protect wildlife and maintain ecological balance. It's crucial to educate and spread awareness among hikers and tourists on how their actions can impact the environment and why it's essential to be responsible while hiking.

We hope that our small action will inspire others to do the same and be more mindful of their actions while hiking. We urge everyone to carry a small trash bag with them on their next hike and pick up any litter they come across and dispose of it properly. If we all do our part, we can keep our natural trails and surrounding clean and preserve them for future generations to enjoy.

Champadevi Temple Trail was a beautiful and spiritual experience that was marred by the sight of litter scattered everywhere. But it was a learning experience for us and reminded us of the importance of taking a small action to help protect our environment. let's all do our past and work together to preserve the natural beauty of our trail and surrounding. We encourage everyone to be mindful of their activities and the impact they have on the environment.
